Mental Demands

May experience frequent interruptions; may be required to shift tasks and priorities; required to deal with a wide range of student behaviors and academic abilities; may occasionally deal with distraught or difficult students.

 

 

Physical Demands

Potentially exposed to ordinary infectious diseases carried by students; exposed to student noise levels. Required to work outdoors in inclement weather; required to stand for prolonged periods; required to hold equipment in proper position for varying lengths of time, change diapers, and/or crawl on floor, sometimes required to move heavy objects  (frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs); may occasionally be exposed to recklessly operated vehicles.

The Salary Range for the paraeducator is Min $17.21 – Max $17.21 per hour. Substitutes will accrue 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked.  Substitutes who work 630 hours will become benefit eligible for the remainder of the school year.  Standard benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability. Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences. The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
